Important reminders:

These first few weeks in July are a great time to protect both your perennial and annual flowers by deadheading them. Deadheading removes those faded flowers and allows your plant to keep blooming.

If you want to get perennials, like Shasta Daisies, blooming for a second time in the same season you can cut them back. This is true with all early blooming flowers. 

Also, don’t forget you can snip off the new green shoots of flowers like rhododendrons (as a form of pruning) if they are growing too large for their space.
