Purple Coneflowers Should Go To the Head of the Class

We each have a personal preference as to which flower is our all-time favorite in our gardens. For me it’s the Purple Coneflower. With its purple petals and its large, reddish center, no other flower provides me with such a colorful contrast. When I was out walking the other day, I found someone, like myself, who included this plant in their corner garden. What disappointed me was how few of them were included and how they were off hidden to the side (I included a small pic of it below).

Here’s the deal with the Purple Coneflower. It’s a perennial that will return year after year, so it’s best to plant it where it has room to grow and expand. It has some elegant, elongated stalks that will grow to a possible 2 feet tall, so it can be placed along the back of your garden so other flowers, shorter in height, can grow in front of it. It will give your garden a fuller look.

This flower is easy to plant, thrives in both full sun or partial shade and does well if you forget to water her a few times. It also attracts butterflies which is just an added bonus to including this beauty in your garden.
