In recent months, two of my cousins had birth flowers tattooed on their arms in honor or memory of dear family members. Tattoos are not for me! Their actions, though, gave me an idea. Why not plant some different birth flowers next season, that match the months of special occasions going on in your life? It could be Larkspur, in honor of your Mom’s 80th birthday next July or Daisies, to gather and give to your 18-year-old whose birthday is in April as she graduates in June. A unique idea for those of us who love, love flowers!

The timing of a family or friend’s birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion may not fit with your area’s growing season, but for those events it works for, it could be a wonderful surprise for someone you care about!
