Description
The beautiful and dependable annual/perennial is a periwinkle blue and native to Europe though has made its home across North America. Bachelor Buttons prefer to bloom during the cooler temps or spring and can be used as a wonderful cut flower as well. They have a light fragrance, sturdy stems and are self-seeding. Cornflower “tall blue” is a true wildflower classic and a standard in any wild garden. Some gardeners also like to dry cornflowers as they keep their color very well. The Blue Bachelor Button makes quite a statement, not only because of its beautiful color but also because it can grow to 3 feet. It is a favorite in meadows and as backdrops in any garden.
